The Grand Hermitage is a charming old-world hotel offering an exceptional experience in Sorrento. The hotel is centrally located on a mountain near the village of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi.
The Grand Hermitage Hotel is situated between the Sorrento and Napoli Bay on one side and the Amalfi Coast on the other. The hotel is a 4-star hotel offering full services, including a dining room serving lunch and dinner. A Hearty breakfast is included each day to prepare you for the day. The Grand Hermitage was built in 1960 and has been family owned and operated since. There are cozy spaces all over the hotel including a large living room with grand piano and 240-degree views of Sorrento below, Napoli Bay and Mount Vesuvius. The lounge is open throughout the day for expresso, birra or cocktails along with snacks.
One especially notable feature that we loved is the property is large and there is a private paved walking path that leads directly into the heart of the little village of Sant’Agata. If the hotel and its views and exceptional service weren’t enough, Sant’Agata is another reason to visit and stay here. Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi literally means view of two gulfs. There are many exceptional restaurants in the village. We visited three that were all family owned and operated each providing excellent food and a family friendly experience.

The location was perfect – Centrally located for excursions anywhere on the Amalfi Coast, Isle of Capri, Sorrento, Napoli or Pompei.
Old World Charm – Has a strong home-away-from-home feeling after long days of exploring. Not slick and modern which is the reason to stay here. Reflects a gentler era with very fine service and traditions of a by-gone era.
Check in was a breeze.
Staff was friendly and incredibly helpful in planning our excursions around the Amalfi Coast..
There is a free shuttle running throughout the day into Sorrento.
Multiple large sitting spaces around the lounge with large picture windows of the remarkable Sorrento views.

Loved the complimentary and extensive breakfast. This is a first-class experience with table clothes, linen napkins and uniformed wait staff. Also easy to grab and go for on-the-go travelers.
A SITA bus stop in front of hotel also provides easy access anywhere on the peninsula.
WiFi is included and available throughout the property.
It bares repeating – The Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful and bent over backwards to make you feel welcomed and at home. They were happy to assist with any need or request.

Large balconies with breathtaking ocean views (request an upper floor).
Private car and tour services available through the front desk.

Restaurant – Yes, Excellent with complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner service. Excellent food in an elegant old-world dining room. The Maître D’ oversees service and your satisfaction as if you were a guest in his homes.
